Family balancing is the practice of using gender selection techniques, usually IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) to choose the sex of a child for non-medical reasons, typically to achieve a mix of genders in a family. The process is ethically controversial and whilst accepted in some countries, is illegal for social reasons in others, including the UK.
This book explores one of the most complex and evolving frontiers of modern reproductive medicine, the science and ethics of choosing a child's gender. It delves into the medical advances, global policies, cultural influences, technologies, ethics, and personal choices that shape the landscape of gender selection today.
