This chapter begins by first providing an overview of the key concepts of ethics and common morality, then moves on to review common morality in agriculture and food systems. The chapter also highlights some of the topics involved agricultural ethics, before reviewing the various social science research methods currently involved in analysing relevant agricultural ethics data. A section on why agricultural ethics matters is also included, focusing on how the outcome of agricultural ethics debates affect the work of those involved and why it is important for these people to strive to do what is ethical.
