Dr Shing Yip Lee was formerly Associate Professor in the Department of Ecology and Biodiversity of the University of Hong Kong. His research on the Deep Bay mangroves dates back to 1985, when he was awarded the first John Swire Scholarship in Wetland Ecology. Dr Lee has, since then, published extensively on the ecology and management of the Mai Po Marshes and in general mangrove ecology. Dr Lee is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences of Griffith University, Australia.
