Emery's still unpublished at his death in 1971, the volume presents a report of the excavations at the cemeteries of Qasr Ibrim in 1961, detailing the superstructure, grave type and burial contents of the graves in cemeteries 192, 192A, 192B, 192C, 192D and 193. To these are added brief chapters on the Meroitic and Coptic texts discovered there and an appendix with brief reports on a number of individual finds.
