This volume of Suave Mechanicals is ‘dedicated to Pamela Spitzmueller; an outstanding historian, teacher, book artist, and mentor. She inspired everyone who worked with her, taken a class from her, heard her lecture, or watched and listened to her as she examined a book. Gary Frost summed up Pam’s life and career in 2021 with this perfect dedication: To Pamela Spitzmueller, book explorer.’ Pam died in 2025.
