This volume contains central sources and studies drawn from the rich late medieval tradition of the Benedictine convent of Lüne near Lüneburg: The edition of the statute book (Hs. Lüne, 14) presents the liturgical ordines for the admission of candidates, i.e. investiture, profession according to the rules of the Bursfeld Reform and consecration of virgins, as well as provisions on monastic charges, the duties of the provost and the diet. The diary of Mechthild Wilde (Hs. Lüne, 24) reports on her election as prioress in 1504 and the first weeks of her term of office. The study 'Networks of the Provosts' analyzes the career paths of the Lüne provosts, in particular their efforts to be endowed with lucrative benefices in Rome, and confronts their letters with news from the Roman supplication registers.
