Independent Producers Limited(IPL)were a very influential British film production group in the 1940s, including for films such as Woman In The Hall, Esther Waters, Once A Jolly Swagman, The Blue Lagoon and Gabriel Pascal's Caesar and Cleopatra. Although they produced some of the most famous films of the era, the group are relatively unknown or written about in film history, until now. This book used never-before-seen business records and historical documents to provide film historians with the intimate details on how the company operated, providing a significant shift to the role of IPL in British film history.
