It also looks at ways of preventing post-harvest losses through methods such as: maintaining optimum grain moisture content, the use of modified and controlled atmospheres, diatomaceous earth and other materials, synthetic insecticides and biopesticides, hermetic storage systems and insect-resistant crop varieties.
