Koichi Iwabuchi is Professor in the Faculty of Arts, Monash University. He is a chair in Media and Cultural Studies and the director of Monash Asia Institute. For many years he was a reporter and producer for Nippon Television Network Corporation (NTV). He is also the author of Recentering Globalization Popular Culture and Japanese Transnationalism (Duke University Press, 2002).
