Modern, intensive agricultural production methods have attracted increasing criticism from a range of economic, ecological, and social perspectives. What moral responsibilities do farmer’s have to address these concerns? This chapter reviews responsibilities, constraints and motivations of farmers, within the agri-food supply system, and ways of improving how farmers can effectively engage with the sustainability agenda.
