Raspberries and blackberries (Rubus spp.) are important fruit crops that have gained substantial economic interest. Since 1996, berry production has been increasing. With the advent of economic and environmental constraints, sustainability is also becoming increasingly important. This chapter focuses on the upcoming challenges, the available breeder tools and the future of breeding for sustainability of raspberry and blackberry crops.
