An archaeological excavation report which documents an important New Kingdom tomb complex in Egypt Tia was an overseer of the treasury during the 19th Dynasty, who married a sister of the Pharaoh Ramesses II (also called Tia) making him the king's brother-in-law. The tomb is built in the ancient burial ground of Memphis at Saqqara, placed near the large tomb of General Horemheb. Archaeologists consider it a major monument of the Ramesside period. Inscriptions show that Ramesses II helped build parts of it as a shrine or temple for Osiris.
