The CropGrow series model, comprising WheatGrow and RiceGrow, was developed by the Engineering and Technology Center for Information Agriculture at Nanjing Agricultural University. The model integrates cutting-edge methodologies, such as system analysis, dynamic modeling, scenario simulation, and decision support system. The series model consists of multiple sub-models that comprehensively address wheat or rice growth and development processes, including phasic development and phenology, organ development and population establishment, photosynthetic production and biomass accumulation, assimilate partitioning and yield and quality formation, nutrient dynamics, and water balance. This holistic approach provides a detailed, dynamic understanding of wheat and rice response to different factors, supporting precision agriculture and optimized crop management.
