With the triumph of the history paradigm, efforts to develop an appropriate form of theological analysis have not kept pace. Paul-Gerhard Klumbies advocates giving voice to the reference to God contained in the theology of the New Testament. By focusing on its theological proprium, the "theology of the New Testament" is able to take on its share of the theology's overall theological responsibility. At the same time it supports the fact that theology as a science can make its own contribution to epistemological discourse with non-theological disciplines.
