English summary: This book is divided into three parts. Takashi Onuki begins by dealing with new literary and sociological aspects of the gospels and the story of the miraculous healings performed by Jesus and takes a close look at Jesus' concept of time, characterized by an omnitemporal now, and its subsequent consequences In the second part of the work, he focuses on gnosticism with regard to its traditional and intellectual relationship to the Johannine writings and the Hellenistic schools of philosophy. The third part revolves around the attempt to describe and explain the problematic role played by apocalypticism and gnosticism in Japan today and in other industrialized countries as well.


German description: DDieser Band ist in drei Themenbereiche gegliedert. Takashi Onuki arbeitet zunachst neue literatursoziologische Aspekte der Evangelien und der Heilungswundergeschichten Jesu heraus und betrachtet das durch ein 'omnitemporales Jetzt' gekennzeichnete Zeitverstandnis Jesu und dessen Nachgeschichte genauer. Im zweiten Teil befasst er sich mit der Gnosis im Hinblick auf deren traditions- und geistesgeschichtlichen Beziehungen zu den johanneischen Schriften und zu den hellenistischen Schulphilosophien.
Im Mittelpunkt des dritten Teils steht der Versuch, die problematischen Rollen, die Apoklayptik und Gnosis im derzeitigen Japan und auch in anderen Industrielandern spielen, darzustellen und zu erklaren. Anlass hierfur war der Saringas-Anschlag durch die Aum-Sekte 1995 in Tokio.
