The present 13th edition of the casebook, now edited by Alexander Thiele, has been thoroughly revised and updated while maintaining the established concept. The focus is now more strongly on institutional EU law. All introductory notes have been revised, and references to case commentaries - where available - facilitate a more in-depth study. The case collection continues to complement the parallel-published Mohr Siebeck textbook on European law, by including references to the marginal number(s) where the relevant decision is discussed thematically in the textbook. Finally, the volume contains a new section entitled "Varia", featuring important recent rulings that span multiple areas. The case collection now includes approximately 20 new decisions, while around 50 decisions from the previous edition have been removed for better focus. These decisions remain available digitally on the utb website.
