To make themselves heard among the branches of government, courts rely on their authority. However, the other branches increasingly call this authority into question. Against this backdrop, the contributions in this volume examine challenges to and assertions of judicial authority from various academic perspectives and at different levels of the law. Thereby, the volume lays the foundation for an interdisciplinary analysis of the phenomenon of judicial authority.
